2006 Season

On January 7, 2006 students, mentors and sponsors from all over the globe gathered in locations to watch the 2006 FIRST Kick Off. On this day, the game Aim High was officially Released.
This year the teams we're partnered into 3 on red and blue alliances. The field has 3 drivers stations at each end of the field, with 2 lower goals on both the right and the left, with ball returns, and an elevated (to 8 feet) center goal with an additional ball return. In front of the drivers stations, and part of the field is a ramp used for the last part of each round.

At the beginning of each round, each robot starts off with a load of no more than 10 balls. Each round consisted of 4 periods. Each round starts off with a 10 second autonomous period, where each robot can only move with out human instruction, this is done by preprogrammed instructions. The robots try to score in each goal, with the lower goals being worth 1 point for each ball and the upper center goal being worth 3 points for each ball. The winner of the autonomous mode gets a 10 point bonus and then goes on to play defense in the next round..
The next period of the match is when the humans took control of the robot (Each team was allowed 4 players, 1 driver, 1 operator, 1 Human Player, and 1 coach). If your team was on defense for this round, one robot could not pass the center line, if all three robots where on the offensive side, your allience would be penalized with a penalty.

After that 40 second period, the alliances would switch roles, offense would be come defense and visa versa. After this round, the roles were dropped for a " free for all " period for an additional 40 seconds. Towards the end of the " Free for All " the robots head toward their alliances ramp. Depending on how many robots we're on each ramp would determine the amount of points the alliance earned and are as follows.
- One Robot - 5 points
- Two Robots - 10 points
- Three Robots - 25 points
