ico2007 season

2007 art work

On January 6, 2007 students, mentors and sponsors from around the world gathered in various locations to watch the 2007 FIRST Kick off. On this day, "Rack 'n' Roll" was release to the world.

For the fourth year teams are split into two teams of 3, one red team and a blue team often called alliances. Again, teams play on a rectangular playing field, but this year dead center in the middle of the field, is what is called "The Rack". The rack is made up of 3 spiders, each with 8 legs where 32" inner tubes can be scored.

2007 field

During the 15 second autonomous (a period where the robot can only operate by preprogrammed instructions) period, each robot is able to score 1 "keeper". It is called a keeper because it can not be canceled or removed.

Once that mode is over, the drivers take over and have 2 minutes to score as many "ringers" as possible on to the rack to form rows, with the scoring acting in binary logic, 2 points for one ringer, 4 for two and so on up to 256 for 8 ringers in a row. The other team can not remove a ringer, but they can cancel it out by placing a "spoiler" on the same leg of the spider as the opponents ringer.

At the end of the match, robots must report back to their home zone, once in their home zone in order to gain bonus points, the alliance must be able to lift one or two bots either 4 inches for 15 points a robot, or 12 inches for 30 points a robot.

Welcome! The home page, the teams only chance at a first impression to whom ever visits the site. At Team 1065 we feel that this page should give a visitor a quick glimpse into our exciting world as a FIRST Robotics Team.
Bienvenidos! The Spanish section of our website is one of our most prized projects. We feel that our website should be accessible to as many people as possible, so we are trying to eliminate a language barrier with this project. The Spanish section is human translated, by a student. Not with a program or website.
About FIRST This page tells about the organization that started it all, FIRST. Covering what FIRST is, the divisions involved in FIRST, and some quotes from students and mentors on how FIRST effects them.
Sponsors The Sponsors of our team are a key part to its function. We are very proud of our sponsors, and have no shame in telling the whole world who they are!
Members Our team is divided into sub-teams, this page explains briefly what each sub-team takes control off. This page also provides links to member profiles.
Website Award Winners This page is another one of our prized projects. It took over two weeks to compile the lists and gather team site URLs. We feel that this is a great resource for other teams who are interested in which teams have previously won the website award. We hope to expand this one day to cover every award FIRST awards to teams.
Helpful Links When ever a student on the team needs an online resource, they can normally find it on this page. If the resource is not on this page, once it is found we quickly add it to the list so it is available for quick access in the future.
Downloads From our team videos, to various award entries it can all be found here, always available for download.
